12V tells us that the battery supplies 12 volts under a nominal load. The same principle holds for a 24V battery bank in that it provides 24 volts.
There will be 12 volts if the batteries are wired together in parallel: positive terminal to positive terminal, and negative to negative.
Average 12V car batteries typically last three to five years, and manufacturers recommend always replacing car batteries once those five years are up.
